What do humic and fulvic acids do in the soil?
Humic and fulvic acids are not just “soil conditioners” — they are real catalysts of microbiological life. They initiate the following processes:
1. Through their complex-forming properties, they bind nutrients in the soil that are not available to the plant (e.g. microelements, phosphorus), then mobilize them, thus directing them towards the root zone.
2. Their fulvic acid content is directly incorporated into plant cells, thereby enhancing the utilization of nutrients at the cellular level — especially during intensive stages of the vegetation period.
3. By increasing microbiological activity (e.g. by stimulating Azotobacter, Bacillus, Mycorrhiza species), they stimulate nitrogen fixation and the decomposition of organic matter.
4. They improve the soil structure, creating a crumbly structure that ensures better water and air management — thus making the soil more resistant to drought or over-watering.
Granules or Liquid? When, which one?
Humikal Universal Granules: an excellent choice for basic treatment or application before sowing or as a top dressing in the early stages of vegetation. The granules dissolve gradually, thus providing a long-lasting effect, improving the root zone, stabilizing the soil pH and promoting nutrient binding.
Humikal Universal Liquid: a fast-acting solution as a foliar fertilizer or mixed into irrigation water (e.g. with a drip system). Ideal in stress situations (e.g. drought, poor root development) or when immediate nutrient uptake is required.
